Common in the waters and on the banks around the Faeroe Is. Also caught in the Faroe-Shetland Channel. Occasionally specimens are caught in the fjords, e.g. Kaldbaksfjørður 9 Aug. 1937, depth 50 m, lenght 51 cm.
